The Zenergy team designs, installs, and maintains renewable energy systems including solar electric (PV), solar thermal air furnaces, solar thermal water systems, small wind turbines, and digital monitoring systems. Zenergy’s customer sites range from small residential homes to large-scale commercial buildings, and its service area covers the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.
All projects begin with a thorough site assessment in which a trained site assessor analyzes your energy needs, identifies inexpensive ways to save energy, discusses renewable energy site options, estimates expected energy production from wind/solar, and discusses financial options and savings.
All installations are overseen by a NABCEP certified (PV) master electrician. Team members have received a variety of renewable energy and energy efficiency training certificates, as well as extensive safety training. Zenergy’s construction foreman and equipment operator has led construction activities since 1995 and renewable energy installations since 2007. Zenergy’s heavy machinery includes a backhoe, bobcat, trencher, vibratory plow, maxi sneaker, and rubber tired and tracked cable plows. Zenergy also has a full team of back-office support available to assist with grant and rebate paperwork, order processing, and general customer service.
Zenergy was created when its parent company, West Central Telephone Association, began searching for greener alternatives to power its telecommunications network and remote switching equipment. Finding no off-the shelf solution, the company worked with engineers and renewable energy experts to design and test a customized system. The company received an Xcel RDF grant to further optimize the wind/solar hybrid kits. In the process of acquiring the knowledge and skills required for developing their own renewable energy solutions, they realized that others were eager to tap into the team’s expertise, and began offering their services to the wider community.
Zenergy was awarded U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar’s Carbon Busters Award of Excellence, and Xcel Energy received the national State Leadership in Clean Energy Award for its support of the Zenergy research project. More information is available at www.zenergyguide.com
