Energy Concepts incorporated in 1994 as a mechanical and engineering consulting firm. Its principal and founder, Craig Tarr, departed from a corporate-based engineering environment in hopes of offering more personalized service and an independent approach on projects consistent with his values. Since then, Energy Concepts has offered traditional mechanical engineering services for residential, commercial, institutional and industrial buildings. These services include deficiency evaluations, energy analysis and complete systems design. Engineering services include: heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, central boiler and chiller plants, commercial ground-source heat pump systems, plumbing systems and building automation/control systems.
OUR PRINCIPAL: Mr. Tarr, a licensed professional engineer in 10 states and a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) accredited professional, is nationally recognized for expertise in mechanical engineering as applied to the built environment. His BSME degree from Colorado State University includes a minor in solar and wind engineering. He has been responsible for $100,000,000 worth of design and construction in his 20+ years of building related engineering. Designing and managing complex projects with a schedule, within budget and subject to unique site-specific requirements has always been essential to Craig’s success.
OUR SERVICES: To compliment our established and well-respected engineering practice, we initiated a renewable energy division in 2006. We recognized a need to bring professional engineering and licensed contracting to renewable energy, and to carry our consistently high level of service and design in renewables to commercial buildings. We have established services offering complete design, sales, installation and maintenance of wind, solar electric, solar thermal and other renewable/energy efficiency systems. We provide site assessments, a “trio” of engineering services and one-stop, turn-key installations.
